CFA UK works with policy-makers, regulators and standard-setters to help build further professionalism in the investment industry. CFA UK aims to promote fair and efficient markets, high standards in financial reporting and ethical standards across the investment profession; it pursues these goals through regulatory responses, researched position papers, membership events and advocacy outreach.

Project work is carried out in working groups of volunteers and facilitated by an advisor.  Oversight of the output from these working groups has been delegated by the CFA UK board to the Professionalism Steering Committee.
