Overview of Certificate in Climate and Investing specimen paper

The Certificate in Climate and Investing examination contain a large number of learning outcomes. The objective of the specimen paper is to provide guidance on the structure of the exam and the way in which questions are positioned and asked. They should NOT be viewed as a primary source of learning. By its nature, a specimen paper will only cover proportion of the learning outcomes. Candidates are strongly advised to develop a fundamental understanding of the curriculum in order to demonstrate the competence required to pass the examination. These examinations differ from any contained within the CFA UK Official Training Manual.

 

Exam Format

Pass mark:

  • The pass mark seldom varies between 60%–70%. The specimen paper will only act as a guide to exam performance. Candidates should aim to achieve at least 70% when using the specimen paper.

Types of exam questions:

  • Standard multiple choice – candidates select 1 option of 4.
  • Multiple response multiple choice – candidates select all answers that apply These questions will clearly state ‘Select all that apply’.
  • Gap fill – candidates must enter a specific response.
  • Drag and drop – candidates must drag and drop the selected response into the correct field.
  • Short item set – candidates are given a short scenario with 3 questions associated with it. The material in the case study does not change with the questions.
  • Long item set – candidates are given a long scenario with 5 questions associated with it. The material in the case study does not change with the questions.
